FREE EVENT AT ATON FOREST HEADQUARTERS AT 270 NORTH COLEBROOK RD

Come meet Aton Forest Research Fellow and naturalist Charley Eiseman, lead author of Tracks & Sign of Insects and Other Invertebrates, author of Leafminers of North America and BugTracks blogger for a talk and a walk at Aton Forest.

Leafminers are larvae of certain moths, flies, beetles, and sawflies that feed between the epidermal layers of leaves. These herbivorous insects leave diverse, often intriguing signs on their host plants.

We will gather at our North Colebrook Road headquarters. Charley will give a short presentation on his work on insects and aspects of the subtle and secret lives of leafminers. Then we will head into the field in search of signs of them.

Total Time: 1 1/2 hours. Bring binoculars, magnifying glasses, water and bug spray.
